Last year, 2023, after finally breaking free from endless Zoom calls, KCWA and TZWA reunited in Perth for an unforgettable Independence Day celebration!
The turnout was massive , with Kenyans showing up in full force—because when Kenyans hear “party,” they don’t just attend, they take over! The Tanzanians brought their signature energy, adding to the vibrant mix that made the event a joyful cultural reunion.
The day was filled with laughter, delicious food, and plenty of photo ops as everyone relished the chance to celebrate together again. With so many Kenyans in Western Australia, it felt like a mini Nairobi had sprung up in Perth, but the Tanzanians made sure their presence was just as strong.
In the end, it wasn’t about the numbers—it was about the shared joy, the laughter, and the memories that were created. Perth might be far from home, but for that one day in 2023, it truly felt like a little piece of Kenya and Tanzania had come alive in Australia
