Frequently Asked Questions

What are the eligibility requirements for KCWA Welfare?

You must be an active, registered KCWA member. You can enrol after paying the joining fee in full, and benefits start after a 3-month maturity period.

How much is the KCWA Welfare joining fee?

From 1 October 2025, the joining fee is AUD 300 (one-off) plus a processing fee.

What is the bereavement payout and how does the claim work?

As of 1 October 2025, approved claims pay AUD 7,500 to the member’s nuclear family. The member (or representative) lodges an online death notification; after coordinator approval, funds are typically released within 2–3 working days.

How do reimbursements work and what if I don’t contribute?

After any payout, all members must contribute equally within 2 weeks to replenish the kitty. If you don’t contribute by the due date, you’ll be temporarily ineligible to receive Welfare benefits for 4 months from the notification date. Eligibility is restored once all arrears are cleared.
